Hi,

My wife and I are planning a nice 3 1/2 week trip from Edmonton, AB, Canada into various parts of Montana, Utah, ID, CA & OR for April. One area we can't seem to find much info on for great camp areas is Red Rock Canyon outside of Vegas. I see a few markings on iOverlander, but hoping this group may have some suggestions. Need a spot for our JLUR and 16' trailer.

Thanks!

It's not Red Rock Canyon, but Lake Meade campground was a favorite of ours back in our full-time RV days. HTH

There are not many areas left, due to Urban sprawl. However off state route 160 (blue diamond rd) there are a couple of trail head parking areas. Both are West of the turn off to the town of Blue Diamond itself, which at the turn-off leads over to the Red Rock Scenic loop entrance. The road then turns into West Charleston Blvd as it heads East into the city into the city.

The 2 parking areas at these trail heads have pit toilets at them. So not primitive camping. I believe they are open over night and can be used as rest stops, Hope that answers some of the questions you might have.

PS:.......Red Rock canyon is West of the city and coeresponds to my above paragraph/ Valley of Fire (Red Rocks also), is on I-15 N,.....N orth-East of Las Vegas. There are more options for primitive camping but about 20 miles North at the truck stop, which takes you into the park.
