Rack for a tent

I'm in the process of building a trailer I put a rack on it was wandering if I need crossbars for a tent?

That's highly dependent on the tent, some needs it, some not!

Those can in effect act like crossbars if you spin the tent 90 degrees, and they aren’t too far apart.

To know what you’ll need, you will first need to purchase the tent, then the need will be obvious.
