I have about 1000 highway miles on the trailer and over 100 of offroad miles on it so far.
The first trip was a local trip in the Big Bear area. The first day we started in Pioneer town and wheeled up to Big Bear. From there we took the highway down to Lucern Valley and camped by Cougar Buttes. The next day I disconnected and went crawling in the Buttes. The last day was mostly highway, I went up to Big Bear and over to Lake Arrowhead to meet my family for Easter in there cabin.

We left early Friday and headed out, stopped by the Trona pinnacles and got gas at a near by gas station. From there we went over the hill down into death valley for more gas. Then we drove the Titus Canyon trail. The Day was coming to and end so we set out to find a camp. We tried to go to Mahogany campground but as we reached the site we realized the gate was locked even though the forest service said the camp ground was "open." Really wanting a campfire, I was discouraged me from Death Valley, as every campground we passed on the way was full and campfires are only allowed in the camp ground fire rings. The park service sent me two hours out of the valley up 7500' of elevation gain for a dead end.
The next morning I made the easy choice to get the hell out of there! Plans were up in the air but we were sure that death valley wasn't meant to be this trip. We headed to Olancha for lunch and to see where else to go. The drive was great! not only was it beautiful, it started pouring to keep things interesting! After lunch we decided on going to Jaw Bone. We Dropped in early and got a sweet camp site at Ricardo camp ground. With tons of fire wood to burn we got too it!

Build looks good [emoji106]. How do you feel the handling is with the tent being up so high?
On the highway it is great! This weekend there were some strong winds at the bottom of Cajon Pass and trailers were going all over the place. I didnt feel anything but the jeep getting hit from the side and looked back. The trailer did not seem phased. I was up in the twisty areas north of Kernville and I had no problem keeping up and passing traffic. Of course there were a few people I let pass but they were in little cars flying.
On the dirt there are some pros cons.
Pros: Going down dirt roads and stuff is no problem at all. The tent stays put and the axle can actually flex around quite a bit. This keeps the beers nice and fresh and nothing moves around.
The cons: Where it gets sketchy is the rock sections. If you drop one side off a ledge it will bottom out on the bump stop and want to carry the momentum. So to fix that I need to start by adding dampening (shocks). I am also going get get spring hangers that are 1in taller to make up for the .75 in bump stop I have on there. This will give more time for the sway to be dampened and allow me to go faster on dirt roads.
This all will help but without rock sliders and a bumper I will still be limited to the size of rocks I can tackle. I have got pretty lucky so far just some scratches to the under side of the wrap. Said and done Im not sure it will be worth the extra 60ish pounds.

I hear you on the wind there. Our awning on our trailer started catching the wind while driving through there and we ended up pulling over and putting some straps on it. As you can see in the picture it looks jank but worked lol. Need to find a better way of securing it since the only mounting point is on top. View attachment 73630

I am thinking about adding a 9 gallon water tank under the trailer. The tank will only hang down 1/2in which i would make a nice skid plate for. The area would be pretty water resistant other than water crossings where it would get submerged.Does anyone know of the rv water pumps can get wet? I was thinking about putting a larger battery down there too.
