We decided to head out of town for a bit the other weekend. The kids were having camping withdrawals... So we loaded up the truck and took of for the Badlands. Nothing too crazy just a some fun and exploring. We found us a spot next to a ridge overlooking the badlands. Set up camp and watched the stars for a bit.

I was up early to watch the sun come up and enjoy some coffee with the dog (and a little peace and quit before the little one woke up). When I had a guest walk into camp.

I thought I had heard them the night before and sure enough a bunch of them had slept just down the hill from us.

So it was time to get the kids up so they could see our guests.

Then it was apparently Craft time or something.

We cheated for breadfest and drove into Wall for a doughnut or two.

And of course they found a way to get wet.

Then we spent the day exploring and messing around in the Badlands National Park

Then back to camp.

And we had another sunrise and this time everybody was up. Mainly to see if the critters came back.

Then it was unfortunately time for us to pack up and head home.

It was a short trip and nothing too exiting but it was fun and the kids had a blast as usual.
