I do live in the swamps of south Louisiana, so I'm not surprised when there are technological advances that haven't made it down this far south yet...

I recently discovered that there are 'puck locks' that actually look like hockey pucks with the locking mechanism hidden in the back of the puck with nothing exposed to cut, like regular padlocks. not sure if this is fairly new or not, but I haven't seen them referenced on here nor have I seen any puck locks in real life. they are new to me and I'm pretty impressed with them so far and thought i'd share...

I just ordered a set and they are very heavy (over 2 pounds each lock) and completely covers the lock hasp and has nothing exposed to be able to cut. like I said, maybe these have been around a while, but for anyone like me who didn't know about them...they are pretty impressive

Interesting. Looks like an upgraded of the Disc lock. Pucker Factor lowered.

They fall off of our service vehicles all the time.

Nothing crazier than sitting at a stop light when one of your puck locks passes you at 60mph. Sparking with every bounce.

yeah...that's definitely a different type of pucker...

I've used them a lot while I was still in the service industry. Their weak point is the same as any durable lock: the keyhole. No matter the lock, the keyhole is easily drillable, and it doesn't take long. I lived in an apartment in Phoenix and had my service van parked right up to my bedroom window, and someone STILL drilled it out in the middle of the night and got away with a ton of copper wire while I was sleeping.

Like all locks, they are just there to keep the honest people honest.
