Hey everyone,

I am thinking of getting the Prinsu rack for my taco based on some recommendations from other folks here, and my questions are has anyone installed one before?

Is this something you can do yourself? I am fairly mechanically inclined but i have never messed with a rack that didn't use cross bars before, least of all drilled into the roof, so not sure if this is something i should do myself.

Any insight is appreciated :)

I found some good posts in Tacoma World about this:

https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/prinsu-design-studio-roof-racks-bs-thread.317754/page-71#post-9715966

And as I was writing this post I realized that the manual says it seems to be bolt on for the 2016 taco, so I take back most of my questions lol, but any insight on experience with these things or if anyone is using it to hold a spare tire and how they managed to secure it is still appreciated!.

I installed a prinsu roof rack on my 4th gen 4runner and I can tell you that it was the easiest install I've ever done. Completely straight forward. He provides quality hardware as well.

I did the install on my 2014 DC, super easy and straight forward. The hardest part was cutting the rubber weather stripping (which wasn't hard at all). The whole thing just bolts together and then bolts onto the roof.

Awesome rack easy to install if you follow the instructions. Only issue is the last crossbar does not clear the antenna on the 16'+.
