Everyone now who’s RSVPed or PMed me about coming should be on the email thread discussing the events around this trip. Please take a look at it, thanks!

I don’t think I can make the zoom meeting today but eager to participate in the Mojave cleanup trip if we’re organizing another.
I’m not sure when the next clean up will be, @Kent R might have more info

So... There seems to be a semi-likely chance that Big Sur is open this weekend.

Just our luck, fire restrictions at back up (no open fires, stoves are ok).

(clicked send too early!) Q... For those who know better, are there legal methods to do a fire in this case? I'm guessing even no propane fire pits, but I gotta ask! ;)
Here's the order:

No legal method for open fires. The only thing you can use are campstoves and lanterns, even for that you need your CA fire permit.

Prewitt Ridge is closed, but Nacimiento-Ferguson Rd has reopened. So that means The Indians are and beyond are good!
Here's the link for more info, including closure map. Good to bookmark.

We're heading Shasta with the teardrop, have reservations in a campground. Not the best but we're getting out for the weekend.
Curious how Shasta was. I'm trying to plan an overnight in the area on my way south from WA next week, but a lot of what I'm looking at is 'closed'. Where did you end up staying?

Hi, we stayed at Lakeshore Inn and RV. It was completely full over the weekend. If you don't need a campground try Gregory Beach Shoreline Area. Its on the water in an open area more like dispersed camping. On I-5 get off on exit 698 Salt Creek/Gilman Road. You can see the area on the left as you cross a bridge on part of Lake Shasta in Lakehead. You can find it on line, look up Gregory Beach Shoreline Area. Its $12.00 per night. Have a safe trip.

I didn’t really want to post this since it’sa sensitive topic... but I’ve been camping almost every weekend but in SoCal.

I have a group of friends that’s been camping every single weekend so I decided to join them... it’s a long drive but it’s safe and it seems like LA is a bit relax because we’ve seen rangers and they just wave and leave. There was 11 cars in our camp site this weekend with zero issues.

most of it is at Angeles National Forest...

But when I was leaving towards 215 freeway at Fontana, CA on Monday. I saw hundreds of people and cars at the San Gabriel Mountains. I couldn’t believe it.

Anyways, just wanted to share.
