After our trip to Mongolia Wilson our Land Rover Defender 90 has had a good bit of downtime as we dedicated most of our travelling to the Colonel our VW Transporter 4 Motion.

But it’s now time to start prepping Wilson again and adding a bit of TLC.

It won’t be long distance trips but shorter solo trips including winter so Wilson has been getting some mods and upgrades.

The 270 degree awning now has a chimney flashing kit for the wood stove to warm up in chilly winter nights.

The high lift Jack has been refurbished and remounted.
The Aux fuel pump has been replaced so now both tanks can be utilised. The diesel heater and fridge are all back online and most importantly will is building up the miles each week keeping things ticking over and topped up.

In a couple of weeks we will head to the Adventure Overland Show for a regional meet up. A round trip of about 1000 miles as we head south from Aberdeen Scotland to Stratford Upon Avon in England.

I can honestly say driving Wilson still brings a huge smile to my face and it feels like an old friend.

Hopefully see some new members out and about.
Safe travels

Interesting, does the stove flashing collapse flat? Thanks for the update!
Hi I placed the flashing between folds so the side still folds up normally and the silicon part of the flashing does collapse so there is very little difference to the packed size.
