Powder Coated Rocksliders vs. Painted

I'm looking at installing some rocksliders on my Tacoma TRD 4X4 Off Road and I'm debating between Powder Coated vs. Painted.

Thoughts and what are the Pros and Cons

Well, with painted ones you can always do touch up on them when the do get scratched from the rocks. Powder coated can not be touched up..

Ya I figured that was going to be primary difference. I like the look of the Powder Coat better, but if you really bang them up they stay banged up, unless you remove and have them redone, and I'm looking getting them attached/welded to the frame, not bolted to the body.

I recently purchased and installed RSG flat sliders, powder coated, for my 18 TRD PRO. I'm older and can't imagine dragging my expensive toy over boulders especially having to drive hundreds of miles home. My sliders are more for accidental encounters than deliberate use. But, I concur with the sentiment that if you are going to use them go painted.

100% agree.

I have no intentions to go crazy with my off road driving, and want them more for the same reasons you mentioned.

Mine came powder coated, but it peeled...like everything I get that is powder coated. Paint is easy to touch up. I started to lineX my parts. My fuel skid and rock sliders are LineXed and were drug across the Rubicon with almost no damage. Costly, but it's one and done!

That’s funny. I inquired about linex. Said if powder coated would be cheaper to do. Bare required extra prepping. Haven’t had mine long but still look outstanding.

Not sure if you’ve made up your mind, but I got White Knuckle sliders for my Tundra from up in apple valley. Used self etching primer and spray can liner and they came out very nice.
Demmelo are nice as well, and both are relatively local so no shipping cost and supporting local business. I just liked the full top plate on the WNs.

Rustoleum semi-gloss looks pretty good if you keep the can about 12" away. It gets more of a flecked appearance... Also use good quality self etching primer if you DIY.
