My son just had a fun one, He is with the 101st and they were doing inserts from the helos. He was teamed up with a newbie and just as they were to drop , the Blackhawk hit a mirco burst and down he went. Lucky for my son he was trained by the Cold Mountain Rescue group from Norwich or VMC if you care. They did a lot of fast roping there.. He was told that even the pilot was starting to call that they lost the Capt. and roll rescue. He called up to ask what happen to the Newbie? The Pilot said, Good, I didn't to have fill out the nine line on that one!
