Hello,

My cousin and I have decided to go to the Maze District next May for 5 nights in the backcountry. I'll be driving my Jeep JL and am looking for suggestions for the best route for photography. I have plenty of time to get ready for the permit request, so I thought I would try you awesome folks first.

Thanks,

Beau

Well, sorry I can’t be of any help to your planning, but thanks to your post, it’s on my list now!

I've just started looking into this myself. Havent made it too far but the Harvest Scene pictographs are here: 38.219278°N 109.989639°W. The trailhead and Maze Overlook are at these coordinates: 38.219278°N 109.989639°W. Thats all I have so far. Hoping to finally make it out there some time in the fall, its been on my list for awhile.

The Maze has been on our list of places to go, for roughly 15 years. Problem? My wife and I go out alone. However, the Maze is one of the few places in the states that I feel compelled to go into with another party. So, it’s still on our list. I don’t think you’ll have any problems finding photo opportunities. My best advice, go on Amazon and purchase a guide book. We bought David Day’s “Canyonlands National Park / Favorite Jeep Roads & Hiking Trails” which is one of the best I know of. Hopefully it can still be found. Good luck !
