Pelican Case Alternatives

So , I have been on the search for cases/boxes that are rugged , and semi waterproof (optional) but strong . However any alternatives to Pelican are not any cheaper . So my question to all of you is what inexpensive alternatives are there. And please don't say just buy pelican or any of the common alternatives because thats not what im looking for . Currently i have a Plano case that does the job , and it wasn't expensive 129.99 CDN . But i would like to have a few more cases , and different sizes . So what do you use /recommend for a inexpensive box/case to hold gear in?

Because i cant find them locally anymore , the only place that has them doesn't sell them anymore :( , Im sure i can probably find them online , but i want to know what other people use maybe ill find something i may like better :P

Look at Patriot cases and gun vault cases. Gun vault may not have anything but firearms I can't remember but they make solid stuff.

Been super happy with my Plano cases - picked them up during a sale at Bass Pro/Cabelas and they've been doing great, especially for the price!

I read your post earlier today and then I stumbled upon the container below and thought of you. It comes in different sizes. I think it is endorsed by Alan Garner.

Yes @Egan I seen those , the only issue with this is that the place to buy them is in the US , as i am in Canada , the cost is somewhere around 39.99 , then i need to add shipping , then import fees and duty fees by the time i get it i probably spent 60-75 bucks , not that its not a low enough price , but id like to try and stay in Canada somehow :P . But thank you for thinking of my post i appreciate it .

Yeah that would be a little to expensive, maybe their is a retailer in Canada with the sme product?

If water proof isn't required, the Rubbermaid Action Packers are water resistant. No soft seal but they have a raised ring that mates with the lid and unless it's directly sprayed with high pressure or submerged, it stays dry inside. I keep two in the back of my K5 offroad with no top over them and in the rain they've kept my gear safe. They are also pretty robust, single layer roto mold and take a good hit or being dropped. The larger ones can get a little pricy but I think they are worth it. You could probably glue an o-ring to the lid and make it water proof as well.

I second the action packers. Excellent product without the cost markups associated with activity specific stuff. Rubbermaid isn't exactly a sexy brand name to have out on the trails, but who cares :)

You might want to check these out. A buddy just got a few of them off the Monoprice refurb sale a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what was refurbed on his they looked new to me.

They have a sticker that said they offer volume pricing so maybe a group buy could be setup if the discount was worth it and there was interest.
