I mostly use the Overlandbound map, iOverlander and Maps Me but in many occasions when i didnt get a connection with my phone i use paper maps ( mostly i buy them at a shop in the country where i am or buy one previously ).
They are easy to use, cheap and often your only way to know where you are wnd where you want to go when you don`t have a connection (either GPS or with the Phone) so definietly still a thing for me
