Hello All!

I apologize if this has been asked to death. I'm planning a trip to Utah and Colorado and would like to have some quality and detailed maps handy. I have googled and have. It came back with anything good.

What would you recommend!?

For example, I am wanting to explore to Robbers Roost area in Utah and have yet to find a good map of the area.

Thanks for the help!!!

Went on a trip this weekend. trail leader had a gazetteer. Probably deLorme. You can see every road even the small unpaved ones, although not all are named. Thing I liked is that they were in a book not multi-fold. Easy to look, dog ear, and keep out of the way. Only one better brand that I have seen so far was a McGregor's from Australia, they are glovebox size.

Been happy with the Benchmark Road and Recreation books. Seldom have to use them, but having paper maps makes me a lot more comfortable if I need to do make some decisions in the field.

I use and swear by Benchmark. They are fun to peruse in camp and to plan routes for new trips. Real easy to find BLM land with them too.

I'm also a fan of the Benchmark maps. I also like the Butler Motorcycle Maps. Coming from the big BMW GS community before a hip replacement, I got to know these maps. Their Backcountry Discovery Route maps are on point, and can give you a big picture that you can use in your trip planning, plus they have all the info on the BDR's, most of which are suitable for more than just motorcycles.

I recently started using the National Geographic trails maps and have been really liking them. Easy to read and durable plasticky paper that appears to be water resistant. So far they’ve been a upgrade to the usfs maps I used to use. They’re about $10 on amazon

I use these as well and like them, I haven't used some of the other ones mentioned though I may have to give Gaia a try on my iphone as I understand the maps are downloadable and the national geographic maps are available on there as well.
