Palm Canyon, AZ

Went on a day trip today to Palm Canyon, AZ. Perfect day for travel in the Sonoran desert. Palm Canyon is about 20 miles south of Quartzsite, AZ and 5.5 miles on a well maintained gravel road. This gravel road is suitable for any road licensed vehicle. There is a parking lot at the end of this road. Now, you are in for a 1 mile hike on a gravel, rock, bolder, uphill hike. This is not an easy trail. It was all this 80 year old could muster to complete the hike. I have included pics of the road, trail and palms with this post.

Thanks for sharing. That area and the hike up to the palms is on my list of areas to visit. Were there a lot of campers along the road to Palm Canyon?

I went there a year ago and was disappointed that one cannot actually visit Palm Canyon without mountaineering gear or a helicopter.

Maybe six to 10. There was an area host about 5 miles in, near the BLM information board.
