I have a RV3 and just toss it up on my rack on my 109. Toss might not be the right word since it goes 7' up and over my High Lift. Then I strap it to the rack with the zipper down to prevent water ingress. Those Drifta pans look easy to make or just cut a piece of plywood.
You can see my Oztent on the rack in the pic.

This thread has been a great reference point. I want a RV5 to put on my roof rack. My big concern is getting it up there solo. I will be camping with my kids a bit. It looks like a perfect tent but I just went into the store and they only had one in a box and I really struggled.

Now it was in a box plus I would imagine there are steps you can do like stand it on its side, place it onto the point of the roof and lift from there. But now I am quite uncertain. Does anyone get this up and down solo?

I have an RV-4 and I often hoist up solo. I basically stand it vertical so one end rests on the roof rack bar, then I lift from the bottom and slide it up and over, using the roof rack bar as a fulcrum.

Sometimes I will climb up to the roof rack (my ARB has a steel mesh floor) and reposition it, but most of the time, it's just a lift and push operation.
