We are planning a trip to NC or Virginia and we’re wondering good places to camp in the area and things to see. We’re thinking about hot springs NC or possibly Brevard NC couldn’t decide where in Virginia any natives to the area have any advice?

I am going to try lake James camp ground and then hope to camp along old NC 105.

I rode through the entire Washington and Jefferson National Forest in Virginia. Loads of places to camp there! Beautiful area no matter the time of year. It’s likely fairly cold in those mountains right now.

I camped along 105 and it is absolutely beautiful. If you use the iOverlander app, there are some great spots already preplotted as well.

I camped along 105 and it is absolutely beautiful. If you use the iOverlander app, there are some great spots already preplotted as well.

Thanks, will try and find the app. Supposed to get a couple of inches of snow and ice this Saturday! So, going to make it even better when I go.

iOverlander is great! Even my wife said “that’s awesome, you better thank that guy for telling you” haha

Anyway adventure is necessary so we are leaving tonight headed east and we will see where we go
