Overlander introduction 1957 Willys MB, 2014 JK

  • HTML tutorial
I am 30yr old, but very old school, and am starting to find out these forums.

Own

1. 1957 Willys MB Jeep 2 dr (stock), Diesel swap in 1987 (3.5 Liter international tractor engine), total clogged km = 690000 km (odo stopped working after that). Now painted new dark green.

2. 2014 Jeep JK 2Dr, BDS 4 inch lift, Bilstien 5100 monotube shocks, AEV geometry correction brackets, Skid plate (Oil pan and transmission), LED headlights, Moryde HD tailgate hinges

3. 1953 Bantam T3C trailer - Currently fully restored, and building a lite overland trailer (will still be used for hauling stuff)

4. 1960s M101 Trailer - Stock (coupled with my older Jeep.

Trips:

1. 2010 - Completed 14000 km expedition in the Himalayas, drove highest motor able road in the world (18800 ft above mean sea level), AND went without a top. 3 months of rain, sun, sand, snow, and everything in between, with no top. NO WINCH ever was mounted. Broke a rear leaf spring shackle, and fuel tank mount (no fuel leak though). Never needed traction control, or winch!

2. 2012 - 10000 km, THAR desert, with my m101 trailer (stock), all gravel and dirt travel. Blew a shock, and clogged the air filter. Other than that, awesome!

3. 2017 - 9000 km, Canadian Rockies in Winter, broke nothing, drove 1000 km in a severe snow storm, covered about 1500 km in technical trails (carried no extra gas, so stuck to vicinity of the cities)

4. 2018 - Proposing to go west to east on the TCAT adventure trail. Mostly used by motorbikes, but I am sure the JK should handle.

Thanks in advance for all your help and looking forward to my Bantam trailer build (keep it simple build).
