Overland routes near Ashland, Oregon?

I've been invited to visit some friends in Ashland, OR for the week of July 4, but am looking for some things to do while I'm up there. Anyone know of any good offroad/dirt road/4wd routes around there that would make good day trips? Any recommendation on good Nature spots to visit (waterfalls, hikes, etc)?

I'll have to check over some of my GPX, but there's plenty of good traveling to do around Lake of the Woods and even Cooper in the other direction.

Any sections of the Oregon BDR route run through there? Plenty of sources for the GPX Files from folks who have done it. At first glance it looks like Route 3 does. http://www.oohva.org
