Ground clearance is what I would like the most to add to my rig. But, my adventures have never been about finding trails to challenge my vehicle. Having never been into 4wheelin, I concentrate more on being self sufficient, and comfortable, for long periods of time. Getting off the main roads and out as far as possible is always part of the trip though.

That's pretty cool! Most fire roads and dirt trails/washouts don't need 4x4 or lots of ground clearance. I was in Mexico recently and locals were driving their vans and sedans in really washed out roads with big ruts. Good tires and driving skills will go a long ways.

I'd love to see you throw a winch and some Maxtrax on there though!

Yeah, I mentioned it earlier but I drove a Honda Civic down in Baja a lot, years ago. I remember some pretty rutted roads and river bed crossings. I never even thought about getting a more capable vehicle. Those trips where all about surfing and fishing and great times camping on the beach.

Ground clearance isn't a necessity or a prerequisite to adventure...I only offered that as one of very few drawbacks to the minivan platform. A minivan is an awesome adventure vehicle!! I love the Overland Minivan.
