Hi I'm considering getting a Backwoods Hi-Lite bumper for my 2020 4runner. Does anyone have opinions on pros/cons of this equipment?

Hello Chip, I do not have experience with this company. Be sure to do your due diligence before plunking down big bucks for the unknown, which it looks like you are considering. If they want front money- walk away. There have been quite a few folks that have paid up front for gear and either get strung on for months on end, or get stuck. No company should ever charge you a dime until the day the item ships. The only time any company should require a deposit is for custom bespoke builds. I also would look into combining steel and aluminum. Do you want to be part of the experiment? There are a lot of reasons it has never been done before. I’m not a metallurgist but I do know in ordinary circumstances it is not a good idea. Good luck!
