New Member, located in southern Maine.
I recently hit the "reset" button on the vehicles in the driveway. Up until last week I had a 97' Landcruiser and an 08' 3 series. Both VERY capable cars, but the landcruiser had seen one too many New England winters and was due for a new home. The beemer was a great car - but without the landcruiser in the quiver I needed something far more capable for weekend trips.
I spend my weekends in the woods, and during the winter skiing. (I own a small ski manufacturing business as a side hustle). I dont need something for rock crawling - but I do want to be able to use any "camp road" I find.
I grew up in Maine before traveling, but we always had lifted subarus for getting around in the woods. After seeing the "wagon of doom" online. I got the itch and pulled the trigger on a bone stock 14' Outback. First up is method rally wheels and some AT sneakers. Then a 2" lift. We'll see where we go from there.
Additionally I picked up 96' Ford Ambulance at a municipality auction. Demo is done - now adding bunk beds, a wood burning stove, new rims and AT tires and an engine chip to boost hp (the 7.3 liter is a beast). Will have a kitchenette, and will eventually get a lift, winch and other goodies. This vehicle will be used as a "campulance" for weekend adventures and as a promo vehicle for lucid skis.
Will post photos....as soon as I can figure out how.
