I use the A/C all the time and have never had an overheating problem.

Know your vehicle and watch your temp. When I first got the Nissan I was cautious about running the AC until I got to know the rig. I know my cooling system is in good shape, the coolant is good, and the fan pulls air well (even stopped). Back with my XJ I would have to watch the temp more closely and regulate AC use, now I dont even worry about it.

The one thing I did have to do recently is hose a lot of dust and dirt out of the radiator and AC condenser. The mud that came out of there was pretty bad, now I try to do it after every dusry trip to keep it from getting clogged up.

Oh, if you are drivng in a dust cloud, set the system to recirculate.

Ok so I have seen or heard opposing methods of how to set the air conditioning system to keep dust out. Here are the questions. In order to build positive pressure in the cabin should the system be set to recirculate or not to recirculate? And from a more technical...What is happening to cause the positive pressure in the cabin?

Non-recirculate for positive pressure, but if your vehicle is well built and the seals are in good shape, then positive pressure is less of an issue. By turning the recircate off and drawing in outside air, you are going to clog up your cabin filter more quickly.

Like mentioned - keep an eye on temps and with a well maintained rig you shouldn't have any issues.
