oem bumper damage vs “offroad” bumper damage

we are having some work done on the house and we have a roll off dumpster in the driveway. the other day i backed into it. this is the result. question is. if i had had a heavy duty 3/16” steel bumper on, would there have been more damage to the truck or would the truck have just bounced off and laughed at the dumpster?

It depends on who made the bumper.
Mine would have damaged the dumpster. On the front, if the bumper isn't made correctly, upper loop "grill protectors" will smash the whole front in when the frame flex's on light impact. They call that a damage multiplier
