Hello OB! I am planning a week long trip to Northern Wyoming with my son later this year (around August) and will will be traveling between Devils Tower, Cody, and Yellowstone. We have never been to WY so I am hope for some ideas on sites to visit and novice trails in that area. I am new to overlanding but I am interested in “putting mud on the tires”. Would welcome any suggestions y’all may have!! Thanks!

Check out the Dates for The Sturgis Rally. The easter side of Wyoming (devil's tower) was pretty crowded last year when we went. If you have any flex might want to shift dates around.
We really liked the Big Horns. We did parts of Section 8/7 and all of section 9 of the Wyoming Backcountry Discovery Route.

If you go through the Tetons there was some decent camping about 20 minutes from Jackson Hole on BLM land. Jackson hole has a really nice YMCA for taking showers. You can get a shower pass. Last year it was around $25ish for my wife and I.

In the Devil's Tower area we spent a night at the Keyhole State park at the Cottonwood Campground. Our campsite was right on the cliff's looking over the water. State park has quarter showers but you need to drive to them from Cottonwood Campground
