Anyone know if a decent trip for the day in Eldorado National Forest? Fire roads, light -med 4x4 off road trails. I was supposed to go to Overland Expo next weekend I got to get out for the day!

I took a day trip up prior to that letter and thought I would go up again. At that time Eldorado NF was the only one open. Oh well. If push comes to shove I could rely on my pass card....USconstitutionWeThePeople.jpg

Last year I ran (parts of) the Pardoe Trail with some friends. Looking at your Avatar you'll have no trouble with it, we had a bone-stock XJ (that finished the trail on a donut spare) and a bone stock 2-door JK Rubicon in the group. My WJ was only on a 4" lift (front long-arm) and ~31.6" tires and I had no issues and only touched the sliders once or twice when I just got lazy and didn't get the optimal line (we were all busy spotting the XJ on a donut through at that point, so I would just run ahead, stop, walk back etc. with no spotter).

I have no idea if it's currently "open" though. If my WJ wasn't mid-surgery I'd love to join and run the trail again.

Camp for the night. Just a random spot we found as the sun was setting after the XJ had blown a tire and we realized he just had a donut. We decided not to push on in the dark... we woke up to realize we had picked a spot with epic views:

Cool pictures! I'll definitely save that for later if not now. Sounds like everything is buttoned up now. I'm itching to get out. Like I said before Overland Expo is out and I still have vacation time.....
Thanks again!

The El Dorado is open. You might get on the Sierra Foothills Overlanders FB page and ask if anyone wants to go up. I know some members wanted to hit our adopted trail off of Silver Fork, Long Canyon Trail.

Thanks! I'm looking at a couple locations. I got a few days before I decide. I appreciate the help.

El Dorado is OPEN! (Thanks Kent!) If you head that way send a shout out. I may be able to tag along for a day trip or overnighter. And still maxed out on vacation...

Thanks! I will. I'm looking at a day trip some time next weekend (15-17). I'll have to wait for over nighters. I took all my roof racks off expecting to get my new canopy soon. You be safe. I hope everyone in your orbit is well.

Hello All -
Technically the post I submitted earlier today is still correct. IT's temporaily closed... With that said - I called the "virtual office" - all of the OHV trails are open, below Snow. All forest roads below Snow are open, disperesed camping is open. All developed Sites, Offices, Restrooms, Dumptanks are closed until the 16th.

This post is so timely for my wife and I... we're looking to get out of the Bay and hit the trails/dispersed camping, probably this weekend. Looking for moderate trails without snow. Can you share more about the Long Canyon Trail or other suggestions? Or just link to another post? Thanks!
