Hello all overlanders,
Thought I would give you my thoughts on Norseman tire chains after running them now for 3 winters, on my Jeeps, Dodge 2500 Cummings truck and Landcruiser. I bought my snow chains in Missoula, MT. at Tire Factory. The tech. Told me these are the ones that the loggers use in the mountains in the winter. That even after years of use they hold together. The chains I use are the 8 mm stud size. They do have larger ones available. In 3 winters, I have used the chains every day for 5 months each winter. They have not been used on pavement, all gravel and dirt snow covered roads. In Three winters of heavy use I have not had any problems with wear or breakage. The only problems have been with the octopus style chain tensioners, they have been deteriorating fast. The Black rubber tensioners that the big truck use work better, at least from my experience. Save some money and just use them! In the picture, that is the Blue thing on the chains! I give the chains an A for a grade. They are worth the initial investment. You will get years of use out of them! Benz.
