Greetings, everyone!
Joining here to get information and ideas on the various trails available in the SF Bay area.We live in the South San Jose, Ca area. My wife owns a 2017 Jeep Wrangler JKU Sport S, and I have a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Sport S. We're retired, and our #1 passion is RV travel. Right now we use her JKU as a "towed" but we're hoping to get my JT set up for towing soon so we'll have a choice on what we want to haul behind our motorhome - it's a 2007 Fleetwood Bounder 35E if anyone's interested!
We've taken my JT down to Hollister Hills SVRA a couple of times and had fun - now we're looking for other options. We are 4WD neophytes and our vehicles are stock (so far) so we tend to avoid going places that will end up with dings, dents, scrapes, etc. - I know we're probably wusses, but we bought our vehicles to enjoy them, not to trash them! We're signed up for the Jeep Adventure program at Hollister Hills on Oct 16 so we can learn more about our limitations, and meet other Jeep people.
I've been reading about the New Idria Mine and I'm thinking about checking that out - I watched videos of a member here on that road and I'm wondering if there is a map of some kind showing which trails to take - on google maps it looks like there's a ton of possibilities!
I guess everybody like photos, so here's a couple:
