My wife and I have a good amount of backpacking and ground camping experience, but have recently wanted to expand our adventures to overlanding.

I’ve recently purchased a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road, and have an RCI bed rack on the way thanks to a group buy coupon! We’re in the market for an RTT, and then off to explore.

welcome to a very expensive hobby ! :)) I'm local south OC. Just so you know you've entered a rabbit hole that has no bottom. I'm in similar shoes as you, started with 2nd gen built tacoma and than decided I wanted something newer and now in the middle of building out a 3rd gen, at first it's a rack and RTT, than you want a hard shell than you'd want a alucab or similar than you realize you need a fridge, solar, suspension, bumpers, slider, armor, winch, compressor, tires etc etc :)) If you're like me though, you'll enjoy it, it definitely different experience when compared to camping on the ground or hiking.
