New to truck and overloading....ready to get started!

Hello!

So like the subject says, I am very new to the overloading world and even the truck world. I am interested in getting into the overloading/camping setups so I can start getting off grid for a bit with the wife and kids.

Good thing, I recently picked up a 2024 F-150 Raptor R and want to set it up for full on camping trip. Like rooftop tent, rack system, so on and so fourth......I am planning to have the truck setup with an EGR roll track bed cover but can't for the life of me get confirmation on what rack systems will work with the TSLOT rails it comes with....

So any help on that front would be great and any tips for gear to get started would be amazing!

Hope you mean...new to "overlanding"...not overloading...because overloading isn't really the objective here...lol.

But, whichever you decide to do...take it slow and go out with a few different folks that overland or remote camp. It's not hard to spend stupid amounts of money on this hobby or lifestyle. And, once you've talk to, or watched, those that have "really walked the walk"...you'll find out that less is more.

Echo this. You'll find a thousand views on the forum. My offer - keep it simple; don't assume that you need something until know why. With a vehicle, appropriate tyres, a tent (ground or RTT) or a bed in the back, you could drive to Patagonia with little problem (I've seen a Canadian Windstar in Argentina - spare wheel tied to the roof, and no other modification).

So get out and find out what you like doing. The money you save on unnecessary additions pays for a lot of fuel....
