Sportsmobile would convert the sprinter into 4x4 before Mercedes decided to sell it here that way so maybe one day the Metris will have this option to through Sportsmobile but until then if you are interested in the Metris check out what that company is doing to them now.1581017667541.png

.

Don't know how available these were in the US in past years, but Mercedes has had 4x4 Sprinters since at least 2015, and say in the article below "The new Sprinter goes on sale in the United States in early 2019."

I don't think this has 4x4 though right? it's RWD only.
Correct the Metris is just RWD. At 70k for for the Overland Metris, I would buy the 4x4 Sprinter instead and outfit it myself.

I actually work at the MBV plant in SC

4x4 Vito and 4x4 sprinters are available from Mercedes since years. There are also companies who improve the 4x4 systems and make them really tough (by replacing the whole system sometimes) like "Iglhaut" and "Oberaigner".
The problem with all that is that it cost the youngest son and a kidney...
They are selling them for years here but you rarely ever see a 4x4 pop top Mercedes V or sprinter.
Also the stock 4x4 system isn't known for its reliability...
Iglhaut and Oberaigner are true beast in their class but I don't know if they export to the US.
Just my two cents...
