Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the overlanding community and I'm from Arkansas. I can tell there aren't many around in this area that even know what overlanding is. any areas in Arkansas to take the family on a 1-2 day trip? Or anybody in our area that would like to plan a trip?

Hello Klayton, welcome from Oklahoma. Been through Beebe a time or two, I usually get off I-40 and take 64 from Conway to Beebe to pick up 167 to Batesville.
Arkansas holds the main destination for overlanders in the south central region... the Ouachita National Forest and the Ozark National Forest.
In fact, the Rendezvous in the Ozarks Overland Rally is held at Byrd's Adventure Center near Cass, Arkansas.
It is scheduled for Oct 16-18, 2020.....but like anything else right now that is very subject to change. Rendezvous in the Ozarks Overland Rally

I'm preparing for a trip to Ouachita NF in the next few weeks.

I have never been there, but all my research says lots of cool roads, camping, water, little towns.

Also looks like a difficult navigation area...lots of closed roads, some trails maybe a little too skinny for my full-size.

Taunton, I will give you some feedback on what I see there. You might also want to consider Angelina NF and Sabine NF.

PreRunner1982, If you have any specific advice for Ouchita, shoot me an email here on the site....
