Hi y'all.

I'm Dean in Tyler, TX.

Just getting the overlanding bug, and will be using my '82 F-100 as my adventuring rig.
I'll probably start by using a truck bed tent, just to see how we like it.

I don't know what I don't know, so I'm here to learn.

I used to go camping a lot years ago, and a lot has changed in the market. I still take motorcycles off road whenever possible, just to see what's there.

I was a former Arizona EMT in the 80's, and I am still interested in emergency/survival medicine.

Just a quick intro instead of just lurking all the time.

Hello Tyler, welcome from Oklahoma. I see you are a ham as well, if you weren't already aware we have a Friday night Echolink net. Hopefully you can join us.
Time : 5:30PM Pacific Standard Time or 17:30 hours Pacific Standard Time
Where : Echolink Node 591550 (USA-GNG) known also as Grits N Gravy, DMR TG 1137550 and Allstar 41130
Anyone can listen only here www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/29437/web
If you don't have access to an Echolink/DMR/Allstar repeater don't worry, many of us use the Echolink app.

You are in the Southwest Region. Check out the Southwest Region sub-forum for local information and involvement opportunities.

Here is the link to the forum calendar and Meet-Up event page: Overland Bound Meetups. There is a fairly regular meet up in the DFW area to keep an eye out for. Looks like they are planning a November trip.
Or to check out what other members are planning go here: Overland Trip Planning

@USStrongman and I are your SW Region Member Reps so if you have any questions let either of us know.
