Thanks all for the warm welcome!
Ripley that first photo (and last) is from our favorite camping spot up on Rollins Pass East. Out of Denver it's about 45 min up to the trail head. About an hour and a half drive up the trail from there. Great easy trail all the way up to the tree line. (old train bed) This spot we found and love is just below the tree line about 11,000ft up. Plenty of great spots to camp around the two big lakes up there. This particular spot off the main trail requires high lift 4x4 to get to and is a bit tricky if there is any snowpack left but tons of other great spots not hard to get to up there! This is a great June/July-Sep trail.
The picture on the ridge line (if you look close you will see the helicopter ;) is at the top of Argentine pass out of Georgetown, CO. Several great youtube videos on that fun drive! That's an Aug/Sep trail due to the high 13,000 ft lots of snow still in July issues. My kids love breaking up rocks around all the old gold mines up there. ;)
