Hi everyone! My name is Jason. My wife, Heather and I are new to the overlanding community and have spent much of 2020 researching it. We knew we wanted to see more, so we purchased a more capable vehicle and began building our rig. We have a 2021 Toyota Tacoma and have already incorporated a CBI bed rack, Prinsu top rack, Total Chaos bed stiffeners, RTT and I’ve upgraded to Deaver Stage III leaf packs. I realized quickly that this truck was going to need something more substantial than the stock leaf packs. A couple weeks ago we drove the Mojave Rd. and it was a blast. We can’t wait to get back out there. Thanks OB#0000 for being there to inspire us!

I could be biased but that’s a great truck! I am the Bay Area member rep and I can help connect you to meet ups that are happening near you. In Pleasanton CA there is a meet up on the second Sunday’s of the month and it has a great regular turn out and active. The Tri-Valley (Pleasanton) group had a big year with 7 trips and we are beginning to plan out 2021. Our next meet up will be January 10th, 1-3pm. Below is a link to the meet up page and thread with information.

This Sunday we will be meeting outdoors at the Pleasanton Ridge Regional park lot on the edge of Sunol CA.

Yep 2020 was the year for research, sounds like you have a good start on your build.
As for the Mojave Road, we hold two Trail Guardian events in the Mojave Preserve each year the next one is hopefully going to be in March but we will see what Covid has instore for that.
