I hope so. But how long should I wait? That's the question.

It's been 2 months, and they don't even have an estimate. Of course, I wasn't told that they were not building them when I placed the order. In fact, it was just the opposite.
That sucks, man.. Hopefully they get it built soon!! Should buy an old XJ and have a Cummins swapped into it ;)

Well...now you know why the EPA isn't allowing the CRD through...(check the news). That ought to get you out of paying any penalties...

I've been in communication with FCA. It seems like they are much more interested in keeping me happy, and a long time customer than the Dealership is.

And check your contract. I'm sure there is a clause for how long they can delay before they have to give you back your deposit.

I finally decided to bugger off waiting for the diesel. It seems that it keeps getting crazier and crazier, with no end in sight.

That said, I opted to go with the 3.6L v6 instead. Since I have the HEMI in the XK, and this is going to be my daily driver gas mileage was very important.

So far, it has plenty of pep. Of course, it's probably not winning any races.

I bring you, the new Jeep to the family!

2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2) Trailhawk. Quadra-Drive, Quadra-Lift, OEM Rock sliders, Skid Plates, all from the factory.

The old KL on the left for reference. I really did like that KL, but I always missed the size and feel of the Grand Cherokee. It is nice to be back!

I've already gotten fairly good at controlling the Auto-stop with the amount of brake pressure alone.

It reads like it should get similar MPG to my Cherokee. If so, I'll be a happy camper!

In the end, I just went to the General Manager of the dealership. They took care of it all.

The salesman came and apologized for the miscommunication, and tried to tell me that he didn't offer me any other solutions "because I was so set on the diesel".

FCA did offer to change the engine in the order, but wouldn't be able to do anything about what the cost would be from the dealer. That would have had to be renegotiated.

The only thing strange about my order, was the diesel. So I was able to find what I wanted on the lot. It still took way too long. Ordered in October, order never delivered, countless hours spent emailing, calling, and stopping by the dealership (and FCA); only to spend 6 hours at the dealership on Saturday.

In the end, I feel like I got a good deal. Though, I after putting up with all the crap I did from the salesman, I think it should have been easier and faster to get the deal that I got.
