Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I am the San Francisco Bay Area born and bread. Currently driving a 2015 WK2 (which is my 5th Grand Cherokee) and towing a Bay Area Metal Fabrication x100 trailer. I grew up camping in and around Northern Cali and Silverton Colorado. Just finished up a 3 night trip to Mojave Road, and it was an adventure for sure. The Jeep loved the washboard roads but the trailer; not so much. Looking forward to meeting many of you out on the trails and at events.

Honestly man we didn’t make it to the water crossing. We started at the old Mojave Rd off the 95 and didn’t realize it was the wrong rd until 12 the next day. Basically put us one day behind. That and the trailer sheared the bolts holding on the suspension twice. We made it a little ways past the lava tubes.

The washboard roads were really an issue for the trailer. From what I hear the water crossing is not an issue, railroad company filled it in with gravel.

Thanks for the update Jesse. I'll be towing a military trailer behind my CJ-7 (giving the Bronco a rest this time). I hope it's up for the task!

Hey Jesse, looks like you’ve got a great set up! I am the Bay Area member rep and I can help connect you to meet ups that are happening near you. In Pleasanton CA there is a meet up on the second Sunday’s of the month and it has a great regular turn out and active. The Tri-Valley (Pleasanton) group had a big year with 7 trips and we are beginning to plan out 2021. Our next meet up will be January 10th, 1-3pm.
