Anyone have a recommendation for a decent lake for trout fishing in the Nevada County, Plumas County area that isn't a huge reservoir that actually has trout that bite in it?
But is Bucks good from the shore? The rough part I think is the time of year. We have tried Feeley, Meadow, Fuller, Lindsay, Scott's Flat etc so far this year and haven't even had any bites aside from bass. That will probably make it a bit tough on the trout bite this time of year, but It's worth a shot. Bucks lake also has some great trout fishing.
It's good from shore most of the year. Admittedly I give up on most trout fishing once summer hits and head for bass. You may be better off hitting a river for bank fishing for trout this time of year. The north fork of the feather river just below the dam near caribou is a family favorite in the summer months. Really awesome crawdad spot too.But is Bucks good from the shore? The rough part I think is the time of year. Gold Lake. You'll get trout biting all day. There are native brown trout and some planted rainbow trout. There's also plenty of crayfish.
