Too many broken dishes from past trips had me looking for other options, besides paper. I remembered my mother had a set of Melmac plates and bowls and I remembered they were indestructible. Well that stuff just ain't made any more so I looked on EBay and sure enough there's plenty to be had. I settled on some Envoy 100 stuff which used to be standard fare for hospital cafeterias. Got enough to supply the FJ and the Winnie Drop, plus a set for the house when the grandkids come over.

Envoy 100 (made in usa) is tough stuff, cleans up easily, stacks compactly, and will 0utlast me . Costs about $25 - $30 shipped. You can also get it in tray format as well, but it's not compact enough for me.
