Nine jeepers left the RV park Wednesday for an off Highway trail run which included Muggins Mountains. Ten jeeps and one truck. Wonderful weather out of Wellton Arizona. The run started at 9:00 am, with a return of 2:30’ish, bring your lunch of choice.
It was an air down run. The beginning was an easy dry wash of small pebbles. But, did that ever change. The remaining ride consisted of rocks, boulders, sand and floured dirt. My pitch gage went as high as 20 degrees and my roll gage went as high as 17 degrees. That raised my heart beat. Some of the inclines with resulting declines were 3/4 mile long. The center berm was quite high and sometimes exceeded my 11” clearance. 40% of the trail was very narrow. There were many 120 degree switch backs, with the summit ones being very tricky. A couple switch backs I had to back-up to continue.
This was definitely a four wheel ride.
Lunch was a time spent discussing many things and resting your four arms.
