Now that hunting season starts when its still muggy and 88 degrees out the Thermacel is a lifesaver.
I keep one clipped to my belt pretty much spring onward. Past that I just use deep woods off on my clothes for the ticks, which at least stops most of them.
I treatment all of my outdoor clothing including RTT, annex and awning with own mix Permethrin. Then use mosquito coil around the campsite. I clip the Thermacell on my belt when I'm gathering fire wood or exploring the area. So far it work well for me in here Georgia and Florida. No See Um is worst than mosquito.
