Looking for some suggestions in the in the Montana/Wyoming/Utah corner for this summer. Coming from Colorado. Trails, camping, must see things, anything you got. Would love to see the back country of these places. Give me something cool! The adventure rig is a Power Wagon so the big girl has to fit!

Headed to Wyoming in summer of 2024 also. Watching the thread. I posted a couple of weeks ago in this section and had some replies with suggestions. Might want to take a peek.

for WY i would suggest the big horn MT's. Medicine Wheel/Medicine Mountain National Historic Landmark . also if you happen to make it over to the black hills, i camped in one of the campgrounds at custer and had a buffalo walk with in 2 foot of my tent while we were cooking.. never heard it till it was right on us.. NEVER will i ever forget that...

There is a lot to chose from and what terrain you want. I am sure there are more options today of either paper or electronic maps to use to stay off of private property.
SW Wyoming is mostly BLM and you can jump on a true track and wind up in UT or CO or go in the other directions and pick a spot on the map to see where you want to come out. A large percentage of the state is BLM land.

I have wandered around the west side of of the Wind River Range in the valley east of Farson. Out there you have to becareful because there are cracks in the ground that you cant cross and may have to do some scouting to find a place to cross that wont swallow your tires and drop you down on the axle or frame.

If you do explore the trails in Wyoming it is a good Idea to let others know the area you will be. Everything is a long way from anywhere and the S&R needs to have a clue where to start and find you.

When I was a kid Dad had my brother and I in the Wagoneer not really far from home outside of Green River, WY and we got stuck and spend the night out there all Mom knew is we may have been near Fire Hole. We we not but were close to a station we walked to that had a phone and were then picked up by a member of the Sweetwater County S&R then had to find the rest of the team who were at the Fire Hole area, and go back and get the Wagoneer winched out of the gully we were stuck in.
