Drive the Mojave Road and document all the tracks that weave off the main trail and identify all turnouts so that they can either make them bigger or add more to eliminate the weaving tracks. This would still be a multi-day event with at least three teams. I would envision each team hopscotching their way along a section of the road. Probably three groups of five or six rigs.

Hi Kent, I just RSVP today. I am very new to the Overlandbound app and community. I did join the previous event back in March/April, but this will be first time coming with family.
Could you let me know where I can find information regarding meet up location and map?
Also, if there are any specifics things to carry for the event. We are traveling with 2 kids.

This is a little late because I forgot to hit the post button last week.

First off, will everyone that was working on the Mojave Road project please send Barclay your tracks and waypoints! (He only has three members reporting so far.)

Well, that's a wrap! 40 members completed three major projects making our tenth Mojave Trail Guardian a huge success. Special thanks to the team leaders for getting everyone organized and on track. Barclay, Tom, Mike, Armin, for the Mojave Road project. Ofer, for the hiking trails project. Bob, for the cabin cleanup & Lucy for keeping track of all the NPS paperwork and keeping me in line.
Also thanks to the Mojave Preserve for being great hosts, and opening the historic Kelso Depot for a tour Sunday.

For the raffle we had several members donate items, thankyou for helping to make the raffle a great event. The odds were just a little better this year because the two major repeat winners couldn't make it. ;-) Also thanks to Jackson for taking the initiative to get the fire set up and for helping pass out raffle tickets.
One more thing: I need pictures from the projects.
So if you have some, could you text them to me at 530-919-7983

Our next Mojave Trail Guardian will be in late March date TBD.

On another note, I am pondering a group campout in May, thinking about picking a desolate place and putting it out when we will be there. This would not be a formal Overland Bound event but my thought would be to camp somewhere close to some great trails that members can explore on their own then get together in the evening.
This is a work in progress so if you have any ideas for a good location please advise. Some things need to be taken into consideration when suggesting a location.
A permit can’t be required, and it can’t be in a National Park. Good options are a large field on private property, a campground where people could make their own reservations or large dispersed camping area. Lets say large enough for 50 rigs to get this started.

Thanks!!
