Hi - New to forum, discovered from Mid-Atlantic Overland Society on FB. Here are a few shots of my rig. I'm the second owner, and I've had her for ~17 years, though the previous 10, she had been parked on my driveway. We put a new-to-me used motor a few months back, replaced a bunch of other stuff, but she's running strong now. I even managed to cover the bonnet with muddy water for the first time since I've owned her.

Welcome to OB Shane O. Your Rig and set up looks good so far. What is your location? looks like a nice trail. Can you share some pics of the way you are securing your gear on your roof rack? What tires/lift set up you have. Take a look at the Overland bound store. you can get one of those nice Emblems with and a few stickers for the rig... :-O

Hello Everyone,

I have been a bit out of touch lately as I was home in UT for a while. I wanted to post a couple updated pictures of my Discovery 4. It's great to see all the new folks on here - wow, some very nice rigs!

I am still trying figure out where to put OB #0001. I ordered a duplicate, as I may do one on each side of my truck, but going to wait to decide until I get the copy from Michael.

Thanks so much! I am running 265/65R18 tires on Compomotive PD1881 18" wheels. These are the only wheels that accommodate the huge breaks on the US Discovery 4/LR4. Some folks use 18" LR3 wheels and spacers and/or drill out some of the wheel, but I did not want to take that route.

I have BF Goodrich A/T KO tires, but ordered the new KO2 tires which will arrive this month.

Thank you sir.  I've got a few more things coming in the mail and I'll be good to go until I get new front and rear bumpers.  Front will have winch mount and anchor points, and the rear will offer a swivel arm for my spare tire and I'll relocate my water and gas cans there.

I dont have any close-ups of how I secure my equipment, but I use either six or ten foot ratchet straps anchored to d-ring mounts I inserted on to my roof rack(s).

I did a full rehearsal of a wheeling/camping trip coming up in a few days and here's how I configured everything.  My goal was to save space and maximize secure load points.  This is how I will travel on the interstate.  When I set up camp and then start hitting the trails, I'll get more pictures and run my setup by you guys so I can get some feedback/constructive criticism.

I also have 550 cord attached to my firestick as a quick-draw method of pulling down the antenna while I'm inside the truck.  The other end of the 550 cord sits anchored to a conduit hook mounted by my B-pillar.





I'm on stock suspension.  After a practice/first off-road test drive last week, I'm comfortable with stock suspension, for now anyway.

And I found a better picture of how I secure my stuff.  Regular (but very well anchored) hand-tightening straps and ratchet straps is my equipment of choice.

Dont mind the XTerra site, the seat covers are universal.  They only cover the upper half of the seat.  You pay for two covers.  They come with all attached MOLLE pouches, but obviously, you can add your own MOLLE.  The material of the seat cover (where your back will contact) is made of MILSPEC material, same as a standard issue duffle bag.  Not luxurious in the slightest, but tough, easy to clean, and practical.  And the MOLLE webbing is made to MILSPEC from what I can tell.
