In my younger days I was with Yosemite search and rescue. Pulled more than a couple folks from strange places, both vertical and horizontal. A rescue for us was always 4 to 12 hours to show up. Most of the rescues took a full day from when the incident started until the they were hospital bound. I understand not doing more harm by moving. My experience is with climbers and hikers and before PLD. So it is dated. I think getting a high level of first aid would be my first go to, something that doesn’t start with call 911 on every treatment. I also carry a large first aid kit and know how to use everything in it. Having time in a life threatening situation usually don’t happen, IMO.
