I finally made the first solo trip (3 days) of the summer 2023 to maine north woods. I thought it was going to be sooner but...life.
I also did my first camping test run of my bedslider in the 4runner and it was awesome! it started raining halfway thru
cooking dinner so I popped the hatch, pulled out the bedslider and put my single burner on it. even standing under the hatch I was
able to cook easily and stayed dry. after I finished cooking I sat and ate dinner on it.
the best part was sitting on the bedslider vs the ground after the rain and dinner. it is like having a 2nd floor deck with a view!
this is my fourth trip up there in the past 12 months and the best by far. I have been using onX maps up there but this time I downloaded
a series of medium resolution offline maps, so much better!
it was also the first trip with a dual battery setup and the new bluetti power station. the only bummer was my new yeti 45
cooler was delivered 5 hours after I headed north for my trip :( My old cooler is way better at melting ice than keeping it cold :(
