Hi gang,

First post here. I've got a standard tank where the fuel line just comes off the bottom but I'm thinking about the feasibility of getting a vaporiser fitted to cook and heat water with. I'm wondering whether any of you have done this and what the costs are relative to simply using a separate gas bottle.

Thanks,

Tim

With the propane tank connected for LIQUID automotive use, you should have a vapor port on it you could tap with a quick connect, to use for cooking. Main thing is make sure to verify it is a vapor port, when you remove the plug, and install the quick connect coupler.
You do know you will have to completely vac out the cylinder of fuel, then ventilate before doing the work? Most propane companies should weigh the cylinder, vac it down for you, then refill back what you had in it. At least we did many years ago when I worked with it. Call your local auto fuel supplier and ask. They might need to send you to a maintenance depot, where they re-certify cylinders.
