New to the forum! First post. Great rigs everybody. Glad to see so many people out there with full size setups.
I’ve got a 2004 Silverado 1500 z71. 131k miles.
Pictures without camper were taken today near barlett lake just outside of Phoenix. Pictures with camper is our normal camping setup.
Camper is an early 2000s Starcraft.
Mods:
Flowmaster 70 series
K&n stock replacement
Throttle body spacer
~2” torsion key lift (ride is terrible. Upgrading soon)
Maxxair helper air bags in the rear
Method 17’s wrapped in Toyo at2 285/75/17

Well i've been away from the forums for a bit but traded in My 2010 Subaru Outback for what i really wanted (and could afford, lol). 2013 F150 FX4. Upgrading the suspension in the spring with a full King setup underneath. Stoked to get it out on some fire roads and explore some more in western NC.

Looks great! Jealous of your area! My dad lives over in Surprise, AZ. Went out to visit him for a few days and was dying to go off exploring. So much more space out west for getting out there. Got to wander a bit on foot in Tanto National Forest.

Our truck is a 2002 F250 7.3L diesel we've been working on since 2014. Currently 160K miles on it.

Mods include:
Drivetrain - 4" exhaust, Airraid intake, Swamps injectors, Adrenalin HPOP, Dieselsite Legendary Transmission with external filtration and additional transcooler
Electrical - 300 AMP alternator, 2 80 AMP hour house batteries, 1K watt inverter, 360 exterior lighting, on board air compressor, additional 120V, 12V, USB outlets front and rear, and tons of interior task lighting
Fuel System - 42 Gallon tank, upgraded fuel pump and filtering, and regulated return system
Suspension/axles/tires - 4.5" front lift with quad shocks, 3" rear lift with Helwig airbags, 4.30 gears, ARB airlockers (front & rear), 18x9 XD wheels with ProComp 37x12.50 MT2, Powerstop calipers, rotors, & pads

Other stuff - Custom (homemade) 5x9 roof rack with integrated ladder access, Batwing 270 awning on drivers side, ARB awning on passenger side, custom rear bumper (again homemade) with integrated rack support and tire holder.

Under the camper top we have a raised sleeping platform for the humans, custom tool storage underneath along with space for two coolers (soon a fridge), and a crazy storage drawer and removable kitchen unit. When we aren't out using it, we're working on it. Or something else!

Nice rig! Cement Gray? I like that color but my wife wanted Magnetic Gray like my first Tundra. No variety...ugh...I hope to get my Victory 4x4 bed rack soon so I can mount up my RTT as well!

Your right but I would gladly settle for what you have and never complain (I know your not) ! I should have started doing this when I was younger and had a lot more money. I'm racing with old man time, hoping to run out of money before I run out of time. LOL

I wanted some opinions on whether I should put the money into the Sub, or get something smaller?

If it's just you or you and a passenger, I think the smaller size is the way to go. If you have a growing family, the larger rig will be beneficial.
There is no right or wrong rig. It's what you like and want. If you like big go for it. I see big rigs at Moab doing the same thing smaller rigs do, so I would never put down the size or the (make) Suburban. It's what you do with it that determines the ability of the rig.

Fuel Zephyr wheels w/Nitto 33’s (next set will be 35’s)
DV8 Off-road front/rear bumpers
Smittybilt-winch, RTT, fender flares
All Pro Off-road bed rack (going to add a shovel/axe mount etc then to the powder coater)
Truck box in the bed for recovery gear and emergency kit
Interior- Blueridge Overland seat back panels, cheap IPad mount, SOE Tactical visor covers

In the plans- Additional lighting (ditch lights and light bar), roof rack, coat the bed, upgrade the iPod mount

I like! How do you like the DV8 bumpers? I like the low profile hoop on the front. Many of those cover the TSS sensor on mine.
