looking for trail and camping recommendations near Lake Tahoe. We are going to be passing through the area on the way out to LA for thanksgiving and would like to do some easy/moderate wheeling and camp with lake views. Any suggestions?

Blackwood Canyon is near Ellis Peak, id recomend that one also. Genoa Peak probably has the best views of the lake.
Pathfinder II
I haven't done Blackwood Canyon on the dirt section in many many years. Can anyone weigh in on if it could be done in a "soft-roader" 1st gen MDX?
Maybe on the way down, but I would NOT recommend it. There are some sections where you may run out of clearance.
