I just received notification of an updated comment on a Rally Point that occurred more than a week ago. I also have an active Rally Point with new messages today, but no notification of a new message. Not sure what's causing it.
Thanks!

Lots of things going slow, or not at all around here. Michael not posting, Cori sending merch late or whatever. Site was down for me for 3 days I think.
We got trouble at the top?
Hi Dave,

@Michael explained the recent unavailability of the site a few days ago here:

Recent Overland Bound Site Outage | OVERLAND BOUND COMMUNITY

If you have problems getting the merchandise you ordered, I think best is to contact OB support via email or the app function.

Safe travels,
Bjoern

Thank you for reporting this. @Kent R I thought the issue with lagging email notifications was solved recently? Thanks.

This is my priority this morning.

FYI, I received 10 notifications last night for old stuff, so it is defiantly broken again.

Sadly I haven't received any emails at all.... though I did get some which were about a day late....

What SMTP service are you guys running as it probably just needs tweaking a bit like maybe buffer size or queue size.... running my own mail system I know what a PITA these things can be ;-)

Thank you, Michael. Hope you will be able track the glitch down and eliminate it.
OK - I have not received an email notification for your response so it certainly is not timely. Looking further.
Wish i could help... check /var/log/mail.log

And any of the logs within the forum software....

Maybe php mailer or something?

Could it be something with the db? Is it mysql or postgres?

Good luck!! :-)

Thank you!

I would not be surprised if we have an issue from the outage the other day. We're looking into that. - like a hung process of emails that were not sent.

Not sure if there's a mail queue log or a command to check the que...

Postfix and other smtp services will all have them.. so definitely give that a shot

For me, I've experienced this since day 1 of signing up?? Emails are always a day late
Maybe the queue size needs adjusting or sone other timer etc...??

OK - I've done some testing and I want you to all rest-assured you are not crazy, at least in regard to this. :D There is some issue, and I'm bringing in the big guns (Steve). Will update soon.

OK - all, confirmed this was a knock-on affect from the outage. We kicked the little engine that pumps email, and it should be flowing again. This means you might get a small flood of backlogged emails. I am going to switch this to "Resolved".

Let me know if you have any other issues related to this.

Well the floodgates definitely seemed to have opened. Getting messages from January that I had received before so hopefully everything gets back to square one after the queue is finished.
